SPEECH - SERVICE AWARD OF JOY ARSENIO

The years that I spent in SM gave me the most memorable experiences in my life. Serving and being a part of this company always challenged me to give my best in everything that I do.  Without this company, I cannot imagine to be a part of the successful opening malls such as SMBG, SMVL, SMMOA, and SMCK and most especially in the growth and redevelopment of SMNE from 3 business entity to now the biggest mall in the Philippines with its growing 6 profit centers.

The experiences I have here also developed my interpersonal skills. I learned to deal and communicate with different types of people, value their need,s and listen to their suggestions that can improve this company.

 


One of its biggest impacts on my life is its Corporate Social Responsibilities. SM’s CSR made me realize that helping and being a part of something that can change and improve people’s lives should never be just within my own community but working together, we can bring it on a greater and wider scale.

Not only in the way that I can help other people, it also contributed to my development as a person. With the demands of my work and considering its nature, I now value time more. I’m able to balance time between my work and family. It also extended my patience even more in dealing with customers.

I think the main reason why I really stay here is because this job is somehow the reflection of my family. The Sy family as a main example and how they care for their employees. I love my work, it molds me to be a better person and I’m happy that makes everything easy. It makes me look forward to new learnings and challenges every single day.

When I first joined this company, all I knew was that SM is a customer service-oriented shopping mall. But as the years went by, I got to know this company deeper. I realized that it continuously works in different ways in addressing the needs of people by the way of creating SM Cares Program aside from SM Foundation.

My proudest moment is SM is when I’m able to touch the lives of my colleagues as well. I’m able to share my knowledge and experiences that can be of good example to them. I’m also proud I grew not only on my own but the company grew bigger during my years of service.

 

The core values of SM that I live by and practice is hard work and integrity. I do things immediatetly without compromising and delaying others. I’m also honest with myself and trustworthy in everything that I do. I also value teamwork… I may achieve things on my own and be successful but there’s no greater success than sharing and achieving it with my team… with this company.
